BATTERY NOT DETECTING IN LAPTOP
Problem: From Battery
mode laptop is not powering ON / Battery not detecting. Symptom:
1. Check whether battery
properly seated on not?
2. Refix the battery and
check
3. Check any loose
connection because if battery latch is loose from bottom cover then it
will not hold the
battery properly.
4. Check whether any Pin
bent where battery is connecting to mother board. If yes
carefully straighten
that bent pin and check
5. check indication in
the panel (orange-charging, red-drain / no power, green-fully
charge)
6. Check in Windows
Mode: Go to control Pannel – Power Options – Power Meter and
check for mode change
(AC mode by plugging power adaptor & battery mode by
removing the power
adaptor)
7. Check for the cross
mark symbol in both modes, if cross mark is there then
charge the battery for ½
hr or 1 hr time in not power on condition, if still problem
persists then problem is
with battery.
8. Check voltage near
battery connector by powering on the laptop, it should be the same
voltage mention on the
battery (ex.12V). Some makes / models don’t show the voltage
in battery absence. In
that condition put battery along with wire & check the battery
voltage.
9. If any variation
likes 12.1v, 12.2V then M/B is good & battery charging.
10. If no variation
& constant 12V voltage then M/B is good, battery is bad
11. If no voltage near
connector & also no charging indication, battery is bad
12. Put another same
model battery if available @ site and check whether from battery
mode laptop is powering
ON?
13. If yes then there is
a problem with battery
14. Check whether
battery charging indication glowing? If yes then there is problem with
battery
15. Take multi meter and
check the voltage (12v) where we are connecting the battery to
mother board (Depends on
product but most of the time you will get +ve and ground
pin one right corner and
one left corner)
16. If after replacing
the battery still same problem then there is problem with mother
board
